Sunshine Mama
I want something with beautifull illustrations but it looks like the only way to purchase these is the Dover Thrift Classics. Is this right?
Alana in Canada
I'm not sure. You want to see the Dovers--I bought a bunch from our libary's "used" booksale--only to have my daughter complain the print was too small to read (for a seven year old). Unfortuntely, she was right. You can print them out yourself in whatever size font you wsh from Guttenberg. Here's the link for Buster Bear--just click on Burgess's name to see the other titles available. (There are quite a few!) http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/22816 There are gorgeous pictures available for this download version: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/22816/22816-h/22816-h.htm hth. Vida Winter
If you don't end up printing your own free version, check out used bookstores. The old hardback versions have nice large type. I've seen them in the $7 range. ~Dana

yvonne
I love the Burgess books, so I just kept an eye out on ebay and other used books sources and gradually collected them in hardback. (I don't like the feel of the Dover paperbacks...) yvonne
In The Great White North
The old hardback versions have nice large type. I've seen them in the $7 range. These are what I have and they are nice, comfy, old books. I got mine at the dump, books sales, garage sales, etc. I doubt if I paid more than $1 each. LoveBaby
I purchased mine on ebay. They are the older, hardback versions with gorgeous illustrations.
frogpond1
here is a link, but I didn't check it out fully. They did a while ago when some of the books were still out of print.http://www.thorntonburgess.org/Book%20Mail%20Order.htm
