ProudGrandma
we are putting in a new shower stall (not tub) and I can't decide if I want a double or a single shower curtain bar. I do intend to have both a liner and a decorative shower curtain. What do I want?? What do you have? opinions and thoughts please. thanks. Runningmom80
We hang the liner and the curtain on the same hooks.
SparklyUnicorn
Double seems like an overkill. It's no problem to put the curtains all on one bar.
kroe1
The double looks a little more formal since you have about two inches of depth between the two curtains. So, it depends on the look you are trying to achieve.
MomtoCandJ
Single, both curtains on same hooks and rod
Spryte
Double, please. Oh, wait, you're not talking about espresso. We use a single bar for a more casual look. :)
Caroline
On our stand alone shower stalls, we have doors, not curtains. On our tubs, which double as showers, we have single on two and double on one. The double is an installed one and a spring rod for the second, so it would be way to switch it to a single by just removing the spring rod. SKL
When I moved into this house, there were two single shower curtain rods (not a double). The outside one had a lacey curtain which did not hang by hooks, it slipped over the rod like a sleeve. So the inside one had the hooks on it. Now I don't use two curtains any more. If they both hang on hooks, I'd go with a single, unless one or both are going to be really heavy shower curtains.
