The weirdest thing just happened...

I don't usually answer my home phone if I don't know the number but DS5 is upstairs "watching a movie" (he will probably fall asleep, in other words  )so I answered.  The "person" on the other end was actually a recording that said, "Hello. How are you today?" and then it paused for a response.  I was so weirded out that I just hung up.  Has anyone else gotten one of these calls?? I've gotten recorded "courtesy" calls before, but never had the recording ask me how I was...

They really can't be fooled into thinking that's real, right?? Lol. She was so robotic.  But she had a name, so that MUST mean she's a real woman, right? Mystery robot voice with no name- fake.   Mystery robot voice that identifies herself by name- this time Jenny- totally legitimate person. ;)

Yes, it happened to me.

Yes, Catwoman, I was slow on the draw, she paused while I spoke, I didn't get it right away! I mean I didn't KNOW that it was a recording at first but once I realized, then I started saying rude and strange things and hung up, ticked off and embarrassed.

I am seriously wondering why we have a house phone except for the fact that I can't afford a cell phone for the rest of the minions.

Tap, it didn't seem like it was going to go live at any time, I can't remember what ....oh, I think it was donations for cancer.

I have gotten those calls, too. Tap is right about how they work.

They are weird! Is anyone ever actually fooled into thinking they are talking to a real person???

:seeya: Hi! I would be that idiot! :o  (Of course, the robot who called me was especially realistic...)

HAHAHA, you wouldn't have been fooled by this one.  She was very obviously a robot.  Yours was probably actually a good one!  Here in PA, we are about four years behind everyone technologically speaking. ;) I'll be back in 2018 to tell you how I was fooled by a robot when PA catches up!
