Dd is pretty solid on her states and capitals, but I'm a firm believer in having a well-stocked game closet. Winter evenings on Lake Ontario can be v-e-r-y l-o-n-g. Another fun states and capitals game is Scrambled States. It's based on a picture book of the same name, and also includes population, area, and state nicknames. It's one of those games that doesn't require a whole lot of though..but just enough to keep it from being too boring. We'll play it for hours when we go down to my inlaws house (that has no tv).
