Guest kacifl
We can afford Potter's School, but Florida Virtual School on-line is free. Anyone have experience with FVS? There isn't any mention of which curriculum is used. I'm close to choosing Potters....I think...
Beth in SW WA
If you have specific questions for Mr. Spotts, he is great about getting back to you promptly via email. He has a way of explaining the concept behind LL that really made sense to me. Are you looking for an Intro class? My kids will be in his Jr. High Intro class on Thursdays at noon Pacific time. FloridaLisa
We've had an excellent experience with FLVS Latin. The teachers are readily available, helpful, enouraging and really get to know the kids during the class. My dc have been inducted into the Latin Honor Society and joined Jr. Classical League. They can also participate in the Jr. Classical League competitions and take the NLE. However, if you have not signed up for Latin I at this point, you may have a long wait. All three of my dc waited months to get into Latin I. My oldest two didn't get in until January (they had signed up the summer before) and had to finish Latin I over the summer to be ready for Latin II in the fall. So if you want a class right now and have not yet been assigned a class with FLVS, I'd go with Potter's. HTH, Lisa
CAMom
I only have experience with Potter's and I can tell you that Mr. Spotts is a great teacher. My son will be taking high school Latin 2 with him in a couple of weeks.

FloridaLisa
Lisa, What Latin program does FLVS use? I didn't see it written in the course description. Thanks! I believe FLVS designs all of their courses. In fact, they are still tweaking several courses to comply with some new state math and science requirements. Sunshine State Sue
What Latin program does FLVS use? I believe FLVS designs all of their courses. I know that FLVS Latin is home-grown. This is why I have been hesitant to use it - it is difficult to judge the quality. If I knew they were using Henle or Cambridge, I would have more faith in it.
