Punchie
I know there's a thread about this in the K-8 board, but other than Calvin and Hobbs, what's listed looks like it might be too young. Do you have any suggestions for books or comics for an older teen/young adult to supplement learning French? The only one I can think of is Asterix and Obelix. The books don't have to be originally in French, just translated into it. Thank you!
Muttichen
We used lots of comics for French! My kids' favorite was Asterix -- there's a whole series. We also used Tintin and a series that is not as well known in the US -- Lucky Luke. You can find them at Amazon.ca. My boys enjoyed them all the way through high school. Sebastian (a lady)
I read through the Harry Potter series when I was working on my German.
8filltheheart
My dd is planning on reading Le Monde de Narnia. She also just ordered these to listen to: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002R2CAIY/ref=pe_385040_30332200_TE_item Her approach is to immerse herself in things where she is familiar with the content in English so that she can lean in context. dewdropfairy
How about Le Petit Prince in its original language? :)
stephinsocal
I like reading detective stories for foreign language study--lots of dialogue.
Michelle_NC
This site has leveled readers you can download: http://www.readinga-z.com/ The yearly fee is a little pricey, but there's a 14-day trial offer
