Jeannie in NJ
I am having the left eye done Tues and then later the right eye. I am excited but nervous. I have never put drops in my eyes so I have been practicing with a dropper full of water. I keep missing my eye and getting the drops on my cheek. ANy suggestions for actually getting the drops in my eyes?
Pawz4me
DH can tilt his head back and splat the drops right in. I can NOT do that. Instead I tilt my head to the side and place the drop in the corner of my eye and blink it in. So to put a drop in my right eye I tilt my head to the left and slightly back, place the drop right in the corner and blink. Or you might find an eye drop guide helpful. My mom always had trouble with eye drops, and she found a guide very helpful after her cataract surgery. Good luck!
Occasionally
You can practice in front of a mirror if it helps. I tilt my head way back and pull the lower lid down enough to make a little pocket, then put the drops in there. Good luck!
Tammyla
Have you tried laying down and then putting the drops in? Let us know how your surgery goes.
