We switched from Wellness to save money, but the brand we switched to has been discontinued. Would like something that is less that Wellness (so about 30-40 bucks for 30 pounds?) I heard TOTW is good but it's pricey on Amazon autodeliver.

We have two active terriers about 12 lbs each, with pretty sensitive stomachs.  Thanks!

It is difficult to find high quality dog food that costs only $1 a pound.

I'm not sure what it costs, but you can buy Kirkland dog food at  Costco.  http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/kirkland-signature-dog-food/

If you have a Tractor Supply near you, the TOTW and 4Health brands are decent ... they may be cheaper there.

You can use this dog food calculator to make sure you are feeding your dogs the right serving sizes.  Often the dog needs fewer calories than are in the serving size suggested on the bag:

I've been paying $44 for the Wellness on subscribe and save Amazon. Love it. They eat less, coat is great. I hear a lot of mixed reviews of TOTW, mainly related to the true 'quality' of the meat so I would investigate that further if you continue.

If the 4Health is cheaper, buy it.

Here are reviews for 4Health, 4Health grain free, and TOTW:

Carefully check expiration dates.  When I used to feed my dogs food from TSC, I'd check the dates and often find expired dog food on their shelves.

TOTW and 4Health are manufactured by Diamond.  The 4Health grain free is manufactured by Ainsworth.

I can't remember the name of the food that we feed our dog. We had to switch last year because our old brand was recalled. The lady at the pet store said the old brand had been purchased by Purina or something and since that switch, there were quality issues. Her recommendation was to switch to a food made in America rather than China.

I can't think of any kibble or canned pet foods that are made in China.  Maybe some of the really, really cheap brands?

But treats are a different story.  There are lots of those made in China, particularly the jerky type treats.  And those are suspected in many, many pet deaths.  So definitely avoid them.

I have no idea if any are made in China. I just made sure to check the food that we selected was made in America. Maybe I didn't need to be so picky and choose a "gourmet" brand. (Our dog is little, so a bag lasts a long time.)

The problem is that some dog foods are made with *ingredients* from China.  You won't find that on the bag.  What you will find is that some brands specifically identify the sources of their ingredients by country.  I consider Canada, Australia, and the U.S. to be safe sources.  Of course, I take into consideration the manufacturer, the brand, and the reputations of each.

Well, it's possible to feed raw for about 1/2 of that price... for you. For my 65 lb dog, he needs about 1 1/3 lb a day. So yours would need about half of what he eats (meaning a total of less than half for both of your dogs)  I would then add one of the salmon oils that you can order of Amazon or purchase at a Pet Store. (You purchase one especially for dogs)  That's all I feed, basically, to my dog... and have for over 5 years now. He's really healthy. You can do organ meets from poultry/and cow/lambs.. etc... except for the liver. That you want to feed in very small amounts.

I almost had to put him to sleep, he was so itchy... nothing was helping him! With this diet, he has totally regulated! :)
