bodiesmom
Which do you prefer and why? My ds12 is finishing up general science using the textbook and am just wondering if the full course on CD rom has any advantages. TIA! D
kiwi mum
I had planned to use the textbook but ended up accidently buying the full course CDrom. I was very pleased with it as we ended up travelling quite a bit that year so it was much more convenient since we were taking the laptop any way. Being able to click through links immediately rather than going to look them up later was a big advantage too. Some people don't like reading off the screen but it wasn't an issue for us. We have gone back to the textbook for Chemistry and Physics, but only because that was what I was able to find at a reasonable price used. SnowWhite
We're using the CD Rom course for General and I hope to use it for Physical as well. Big advantage = no big book to lug around.
trudence1
What else, if anything, is needed besides the Full Course CD? I am considering this for next year and want to make sure I don't forget something.

I am considering this for next year and want to make sure I don't forget something. It really is complete. The only other thing I used was a printer for study guides etc. Obviously you need the supplies for the experiments. ;) But the cd rom contains all the extras from the supplemental cd apologia sells. Just clicking as reading the text makes things really easy.

trudence1
Thanks, ladies. I ordered it and now can't wait for it to come so I can browse through and get a feel for it. My boys are not near as excited. =)
bodiesmom
OP here... I was very excited to get the CD for all the reasons stated here. My son, however, had a very strong opinion about wanting to have the book. Darn it! :-)
