Can someone tell me why Classical Writing Student Workbook A is $85??

I purchased a copy (a full set, in fact) at the homeschool store today. I looked online to see if it would pay to make copies or buy an additional student Workbook.

The first one says it includes the student and instructor book, but even then it's not 85.00 brand new.

I found it at Rainbow Resource for $24.95. Maybe the sellers at amazon don't know what's it really worth. Good question.

Buy one from Lulu or Rainbow Resource if you want, but I just make copies. :tongue_smilie:

People on the amazon marketplace and ebay frequently list stuff at outrageous prices. Some people assume they are getting a better deal if it's used and won't even check the price for the resource new. I have *often* seen used sets of Sing, Spell, Read and Write (without the workbooks) on sale on ebay for more than a brand new set costs from Pearson.

Oh, they do know what it is worth. However, "sly" sellers on Amazon or half.com, when there is no new copy available, or no competition, will choose to name their own price. If someone doesn't know enough to look around for a better deal, then the buyer will sometimes fall prey to these schemes.

Wow.....I just sold Aesops and Homer cores, Advanced beginner IG, Aesops student A (first few weeks used), Aesop B (unused), and 2 (first few weeks used, 1 with the cover torn off) Advanced beginner books ALL for $70!

I've seen this frequently at Amazon Marketplace. I've seen prices for the same book range from 99c to $125! It's nuts.
