amo_mea_filiis.
I just posted about ds's convergence problems coming back full force. We've got an action plan now. Tonight I got him all tucked in and went to go paint and have tea with dd. My painting is a paint by number, but it's pretty detailed. I am very motivated to finish this. It's a hot air balloon scene and I'm enjoying it (I bought it for ds and he has no interest in it). My reason for apologizing: my eyes will not focus tonight! It's a convergence issue, I can feel it. I'm tired, but I want to do this. I can't imagine being forced to work on the picture anymore tonight. I can't imagine having zero motivation plus being forced! A tantrum would happen for sure, and I'm 30 years old! Lol. I have no idea how poor ds is ever going to read when he's not motivated AND it's physically difficult, if not impossible at times, for his eyes to focus. I'm sorry little man. I owe you a billion kisses and a huge apology.

amo_mea_filiis.
Thank, unsinkable. :) I'm going to give him an easy school week and no iPod and see if that gives him some eye rest. I just feel so bad for not being perfectly patient when he tells me he can't see! I honestly didn't believe him, or didn't believe it was *that* bad, until tonight. Spryte
:grouphug: Just realizing the same thing about DS here. He started VT this week, and the physical results of that are obvious. Poor guy. I can't imagine trying to read that way. Glad you have a plan!
amo_mea_filiis.
I had a chat with ds this morning and apologized. During our chat he tells me that he does want to read. He really, really wants to read. But he wants it to be like bike riding and not skating (bike- one day for balance and pedal, another for turning, a third for braking, by day 4 he was great. Skating- over a week in and he can barely shuffle around.). I told him that maybe the glasses will help him just enough while we work out his eye muscles. I also said that we can break his school work into shorter sessions.
bettyandbob
My youngest , 12, and has convergence problems as well as all kinds of other issues. He had all the letter sounds by age 5 and knew quite a few sight words. He's really no further long today. There's nothing enjoyable about reading for him and it's too hard. Hopefully, some of the therapy you are doing strays to help.
