png
Has anyone used Paul Foerster Algebra II and Trigonometry text (VP 9th Math)? If so, would you recommend it? Thanks!
In The Great White North
We sued the 84 version and liked it.
Maverick
I have it and plan to use it this year--what I've read so far I like. We also used Foerster for Algebra I and liked it very much, so I had no qualms about choosing Foerster for Alg II.
EKS
We have it and are going to use it but I heard on here that the trig in Foerster's precalculus book is better. Maybe someone who actually knows what they're talking about will chime in here!
Jann in TX
Foerster himself says that if your student will be going on to higher maths then use his Pre-Calc text for Trigonometry. The Trigonometry at the end of an Algebra 2 text is usually introductory and not as deep as students will get in a full Trig or Pre-Calc course. Denise in PA
My two cents worth: My son learned Algebra II with Forester's text very effectively - despite my math ineptedness. He finished the algebra II section, but decided to learn trigonometry this coming falll with Forester's Precalculus book. From a parent-teacher's view I really like Forester's math series because it is straitforward, excellent review sections throuhout chapters, and teaches the student to really think through math concepts. Lisa L. in MI
Neither of us are particularly "math-y" but he's doing well with it. I've been able to help him whenever he doesn't understand the text - which really is not often because the text is well-written.
