beansprouts
Can you give me some advice for choosing one? Both space and price are considerations. Thanks!
Remudamom
I love mine, dh got it at Walmart and that's all I know. I don't use all the gadgets it's got, I just get on and go. Big help, huh?
Nestof3
http://www.treadmilldoctor.com/ It's a great site with very helpful people. I recall them recommended a model sold by Costco made by NordicTrack. Nordictrack is (or at least were) very good with warranties. Oh, and if you ever consider buying a recumbent bike, I absolutely love mine!
laylamcb
I second the Treadmill Doctor recommendation. And I have a LifeFitness T3, which I love...and hate simultaneously, IYKWIM. ;) Great machine, but dang it, I hate running in place. :001_smile:
HollyDay
Wellllll . . .Mine hurt my back and hips pretty bad. I bought a really nice one from Vision Fitness with the orthodic belt, heart rate monitor, etc, etc, It was top of the line 3 years ago. Then I started having hip and back problems. Finally, a physical therapist asked if I used a treadmill. He explained that women with an arch in their back (like I have) tend to have tilted pelvises and treadmills can really tear the muscles in the hips and low back. Something about the "push/pull" motion of the machine. I cant run either by the way. I stopped using the treadmill and started a combo walking/dvd aerobic/biking program and the pain went away. I loved my treadmill so I thought I would try it again - surely they were wrong, my beloved workout routine couldnt be the problem. Yep, sure enough, in next to no time, the pain and muscle spasms were back. so, make sure the treadmill is a good fit for you. It isnt for everybody. Mrs Mungo
I'd look at garage sales or on craigslist. In fact, I have one friend who has a side business with her hubby buying nordic trac machines at garage sales and then selling them on ebay. They make quite a bit of money on it. So, I think it's worth checking.
