Esse Quam Videri
Just moved to California and wondering the biggest and best conferences coming up? We are fairly central and don't mind traveling if it's worth it.
Ellie
The CHEA Convention in So Cal is the biggest. But the one in Modesto is pretty good size and is much less expensive.
sassenach
I didn't care for CHEA. I totally second the Modesto conference. It's a great. Also, great homeschool conventions is putting on a California conference Feb of next year. The last one they put on was hands down the best conference I've ever been to. shinyhappypeople
I like the VHE conference in Modesto. I really want to go to the Homeschool Assn of California's Sacramento Convention. The CHEA-Bay Area convention is this Friday and Saturday.
Esse Quam Videri
Thank you! I'm relatively close to Modesto, but I'll be gone the weekend of the used curriculum sale :-(. That's my main draw, honestly. I may have to check out CHEA, as that's fairly close too.

I don't see a date for SCOPE's used curriculum sale; its conference is June 14 and 15.
Esse Quam Videri
I'll be out of state June 7-27. Maybe I should plan on next year :glare:
ladydusk
I dont know where Bakersfield is but here's a link to their conference. http://www.bakersfieldconference.org/
Esse Quam Videri
Bakersfield is actually the closest yet! And it's not in June :-). BUT they don't have any vendors listed, and I'm not sure there is a used sale. BUT for $15, it's worth a shot right?
ladydusk
Brandy who runs the Afterthoughts blog (I'm mobile or I'd link) and her husband and friends run the conference. I know she'd be happy to answer questions.

It's mostly people from Modesto and surrounding areas.
