5LittleMonkeys
I was looking at Notgrass's Uncle Sam and You program for dd10 for next year. I really don't think I can add another full program onto her regular schedule and I don't particularly want to spend $90 odd dollars on this subject. Any recommendations for websites, library books, or inexpensive amazon deals that I could use instead? Thanks.
Bang!Zoom!
When you go to the library next, check out the area which holds the exams for US Citizenship Lot of really study pieces involved in passing that exam, very factual and basic things to know. tuckabella
Not sure how in depth you want to go, but there is a book that your library has called How the Government Works. Also, there are civics lapbooks out there.

TarynB
My DS learns quite a bit on civics/government topics from BrainPop videos, in a very quick and painless way. We subscribe to the 5 videos per day deal and he watches them on his iPod. It costs $1.99 per month and includes the related quizzes. Might be nice if you're not looking to add a full curriculum.
