Erica in OR
A few other threads have popped up infrequently that some homeschoolers do the Speed Stacks cup stacking themselves. My kids have done this at home for a couple years now just for fun. I've signed up to teach a one-time class on cup stacking for our homeschool group next week and am wondering if anyone else has ever taught a similar class. Looking for tips if anyone has. We were able to get a loaner pack from Speed Stacks, so we have plenty of cup sets, along with two timer mats. The room we're using is large, with tables to use if we wish. I plan to mix teaching the cup stacking with some of the fitness activities the Speed Stacks manual suggests for use with P.E. classes. Anyone BTDT? Anne in CA
I have not, but it sounds like fun!
NotSoObvious
Our PE teacher mixed speed stacking with Brain gym at our old school. It was great and the kids loved it. She always had the kids start in a circle and she started with three cups until they got it, then added a step each time from there. A lot of times the kids took turns with a partner so they could watch, then practice.
GailV
:lurk5: What a great idea for a co-op class! One of our homeschool friends is a world class stacker -- he was in Guinness World Records for stacking. I'm watching this thread for more ideas now.... Erica in OR
I'm really enjoying it myself. I watched the instructor DVD last week to teach myself how to do the different steps and have recently spent probably a little bit too much time trying to beat my personal record. :) I'll try to remember to come back and post on the thread some of the things we did. chiguirre
Trinqueta took a speed stacks class at coop and enjoyed it. They competed in class and did some stacking games.
