I would love to have a little Valentine's Day party for my girls and let them invite a few friends. My thoughts are that we will do a craft or two, have some yummy treats and drinks, and maybe they can decorate their own cupcakes or cookies.

Any ideas for a very frugal, yet cute party for a few little girls? I have been finding lots of holiday ideas but nothing good yet for Vday. Please help me!

Thanks!

You can make a simple butter cream frosting in pinks and white and put a bit in sandwich baggies with a small corner cut off. This way each child can have their own frosting "tubes".

Valentine picture Bingo:

I thought this heart tic tac toe was very cute:

And something like this could be fun:

This is my "go to" party site. I do her parties all the time. They look pricey, but they're not. You have to do a lot of work yourself, but with cute printables, it's soooo easy. These parties came up under the "Valentine" search. You'll probably find lots of cute ideas even if you don't want to do an entire party. They may be more than what you're looking for, but some of the easier individual decorations and food might work for you. http://www.karaspartyideas.com/?s=valentine

A cute game is a variation of "hot potato" using a heart shaped bean bag. I always decorate our children's rooms with construction paper hearts suspended from the ceiling with yarn. I write "mom loves you" " daddy loves you" "mamaw loves you" and on & on...one person per heart. This could be cute in the room where the party will be held.

Let them decorate pink or red paper cups and serve whatever pink or red drink fits, your family's dietary guidelines (Shirley temples, juice, punchi, half juice half sprite, etc.). Snack ideas are pretty easy if you're mainly thinking sweet stuff (brownies cut into heart shapes and sprinkled with pink tinted powdered sugar, strawberries with the tops carved to make the strawberry look like a heart and then optionally dipped in white chocolate, etc.), but if you want savory foods too, you could make turkey & cheese roll ups using sundried tomato tortillas, cut into pieces, then manipulate each slice to look like a heart, or any kind of sandwich can be cut with a valentine shaped cookie cutter.

A cute craft is to string any kind of candy with a hole (like life savers) and/or gummy candy into bracelets. You could also, play a homemade concentration game where you have to match cartoon "couples" like Mickey & Minnie, Cinderella & Prince Charming, Beauty & The Beast, etc. Just print out the characters to desired size, glue to card stock & cut out with just a bit of card stock edging the image. Another quick & easy craft is to make heart crowns. Take a strip of construction paper sized to fit child's head, have an assortment of paper hearts & glue sticks and/or stickers, let them decorate, then help staple or glue into a circle for a crown.

It sounds fun! I hope y'all have a wonderful time! :)

ETA: I always love to send home a party favor. The one I like the most is to take a picture of the child/children who are hosting along with each guest. I print them out, cut them out and affix them to cards I made ahead. In this case, I would probably cut out heart shaped cards hinged at the top, affix the photo inside and write something underneath like "I (draw a heart) that you celebrated with us!

I did a kindergarten class party once for Valentine's Day. The craft was making suncatchers and that went over really well.

For an activity we did a cakewalk using Little Debbie Valentine's Day snack cakes. I cut out hearts from construction paper and wrote on numbers for them to land on. Very easy and the kids loved it!
