We (meaning DH) has gone over this book with our 10-year-old DS. It's written in the same style as the girls' book from American Girl. When I bought it and gave it to DH, he really liked it - he even said he wished he had something just like it when he was this age. He said it would have answered a LOT of questions about issues that his parents never talked to him about.

I used this book for both of my boys - my older one might have been 11, but his questions were CONSTANT. This book slowed the questions down a LOT. My 9 yo read it as part of his big bin of science books this year. He didnt want to talk about anything at all, but read it cover to cover and mentioned one or two things (like one night I was tucking him in and he said "I sure hope I dont ever have any wet dreams" . . .lol ok . . . ) Its aimed at preteens, very basic.
