I want to make my own vanilla, if you bought beans from Amazon, which ones?

I think the title says it all. My MIL and FIL sent me some amazon gift cards for the holidays and I'd like to try making my own vanilla, but I'm not sure if the vanilla beans on amazon would be a good buy or not.

I bought these beans. This makes a lot! I just remembered I still have some more to use. I think I went with 12 beans per 750ml bottle of Smirnoff to make it nice and strong. I bought these bottles which are pretty large at 8-oz but they are adorable!

They look like a good price to me. Reviews were favorable on the Madagascar beans I looked at. I will probably order from Amazon next time I need beans. I ordered from ebay last time but that was years ago.

I like the Madagascar beans, too. FWIW don't use the cute little bottles with the cork stoppers-the vanilla will evaporate. Go ahead ask me how I know :glare:

Thanks all, I ended up buying some beans from beanilla.com because that way I could buy just smaller amounts of different varieties. I bought some madagascar and tahiti beans. I figured I'd find my own bottles out there so I could make sure they have a good cap.
