Joker
There was a BOGO sale on celery bunches. I only needed one but it seemed wrong not to take the free one. :tongue_smilie: Can I freeze it? How?
gardenmom5
I would think it would end up mushy when thawed. If you chopped it before freezing, and divided it up, you could use it in cooked items (i.e. soup) and the mushiness from thawing wouldn't matter. I chop up and freeze celery whenever I have extra. But I only use it in cooked recipes like soup.
Mama Geek
Don't freeze it without cutting it up, I did it once in a hurry and it was a pain to cut up.
Mommee & Baba
I wouldn't freeze it BUT... Take the celery out of the bag, wash it off. Then dry it. Wrap the celery in foil and put back into the bag it came it. Then place in fridge. It will stay CRISP in the fridge just like the day you bought it up to 6 weeks later! I've tested this and it's been wondeful EVERYTIME! I now buy celery once a month as we don't eat it alot and it stays good. Before I'd have to buy it twice a month in order for us to have no limp celery in our soups.
Joker
I've never heard about the foil thing! I think I'll try it and see. Thanks!
