shukriyya
What other books are there out there in this same vein? These have been a great addition to our math program and dc has explored further many of the topics discussed in each of these books. Would love to continue with this aspect of our math curric. Any recs?
NittanyJen
Have you done Penrose the Mathematical Cat, by Theoni Pappas?
shukriyya
Yes, we've got that one and 'Fractals, Googles and other Mathematical Tales'. Both were hits here too. I think there may be more in the series so thanks for reminding me about these :D Any others?
dbmamaz
I admit I didnt love those, but I did love the Cat in Numberland. Actually the biggest hit (several years ago, tho) was Polar Bear Fractions. the first book of Joy Hakim's Story of Science is mostly about mathematician and what they discover. stripe
Ian Stewart's Nature's Numbers is interesting Anything by Simon Singh is great. Quark has already recommended The Code Book, but his book on Fermat's Last Theorem (the book is called Fermat's Enigma) is captivating. I had a non-mathy houseguest fall in love with it so much that she bought her own copy to finish at home.

Pod's mum
Hello, My math lover has reread Mathemagics, one of the Childcraft volumes, over and over since she was kinder. We love watching the math doodling youtubes... http://vihart.com/doodling/ We second Penrose the Mathematical Cat and add... dang, I can't remember her current mathematics favourite read. I'll have to track it down and ETA. ETA: The Joy of Mathematics, by Theoni Pappas (same author) I also have this book on my book depository wishlist... shukriyya
Yes, we love the vihart doodling videos. And thank you for reminding me about the math projects book. I had put that in my cart for later use at some point and then forgot about it.
