We have 3 sets I don't really want to spend money on the additional sets, since dd memorizes them after one read. We try to read one new book a day together. (She reads I help) We have a lot of the Biscuit books, looking for recommendations for other books at that type of level to look for at our small library. McGuffey is one we used, free online and just read from the Kindle or computer. It is purely phonics, but I just give words that we haven't covered yet, sounding them out for my daughter. Edward Marshall books (Fox stories, Three in a Tree, Four by the Shore) Little Bear Books. I like the readers from Harriet Treadwell (most may be free online, IDK if a library would have them.) Bree Posted October 18, 2012 Share Posted October 18, 2012 You could check out HOD emerging readers or Sonlight grade 1 or 2 readers, most of these are pretty easy to find at the library. My library has color coded stickers on their spines to go with what level reader they are. I would ask the librarian if they have anything like that.
