LisaKinVA
I was just going to turn the oven on warm for a minute...my kitchen is filled with smoke, the 4 loaves of bread dough are ruined, the big pink bowl a melted mess, one towel in charred embers...and the oven I spent an hour cleaning now needs to be cleaned thoroughly again. I'm hoping if the plastic dries it will pop off the bottom of the oven easily, allowing me to use the steel wool to get rid of the scorch marks and run the cleaning cycle. Stupid...stupid...stupid. Lawana
I'm sorry. I've done that too. Now I always set a timer when I turn on the oven, even and especially for 60 sec.
justLisa
Oh I have done stuff like that. It sucks. A melted bowl is easier to get off than plastic wrap!
The Girls' Mom
:grouphug: There are still jokes from the time I caused my cake taker to burst *into flames*
LisaKinVA
Well, at least I have an excuse to get some stainless steel mixing bowls, right?

plansrme
I melted my family's roast once. See, you didn't even know meat could liquify, did you? I was in high school, and the house stunk for weeks. It probably still smells faintly of liquid roast beef on a good day... Terri
Cinder
I still remember the time we were kids and my brother decided to bake a cake. He preheated the oven then prepared the mix. When he went to put the cake in the oven he saw the broiler pan sitting on the oven rack and saw a yellow square on the pan. He took out the pan and wondered out loud how that piece of cheese got on the pan. Well, it wasn't cheese; it was mom's giant yellow tupperware bowl melted down to the size of a slice of american cheese. The funny thing was it hadn't given off fumes or smoked at all. Sorry about your oven, bread, bowl, towel. :grouphug:
thescrappyhomeschooler
I just burned two of my reusable grocery bags, along with some of the groceries in them, on my stove on Saturday. :grouphug::grouphug:
