LuvingLife
Okay so I do know I have posted wuite a bit about my battle with acne, but it seems to NEVER go away!!! I mean it isn't extreme, but it's moderate and nothing seems to diminish it and I want it to disappear forever! Honestly, I have tried countless over the counter item, been to numerous dermatologists, and I still have no solution to my problem. I mean come on!!! My final option has lead me to Accutane, and I do not want to go down that road. I have seen the good it is capable of doing, but I have also seen the terribel side effects that have come of it, and I am frightened of trying it. Literally frightened. My friends have tried it, and have become so sick, have had wierd mood swings after coming off it, or lasting effects that are causing serious health problems, all because of Accutane. And for most it didn't even work! It continued to return even after two rounds. I cannot afford Accutane even if I was willing to go down that road, neither can my parents. We also cannot afford the numerous medications that I would need to "heal" my face. I have tried the samples, didn't work. But then I ran into a friend that told me about the natural way to heal and prevent acne. Her face is gorgeous! She drinks herbal teas, applies herbal medication to her face, and does everything herbal. She told me that it works better than any other dermatologist could do for her face, and she had bad acne. she told me she takes zinc and fish oil, but I didn't catch how much of each. And I also didn't get the information from her about the herbal items she uses to get rid of acne. Can anyone please help me get rid of this acne! I am so very desperate, but I don't want to try Accutane. My acne is not severe, so I know I do not need it. I really don't know what to do anymore, I am so lost. :bigear: Please help! wapiti
There was a new zinc thread just today: More applause for zinc for acne! So, what you need is a zinc dose?

merry gardens
I have very sensitive skin and used to break out--and scar. Some cleansers make my face break out and it took a long time to figure out what works best (with lots of trial and error and with professional help from a good esthetician at a salon where I used to go for facials.) Fade cream helped with the scarring because half the problem was once a pimple heals, the dark marks can stay for months. There are some books I'd recommend: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0743236238/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00 and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553804227/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 and http://www.amazon.com/Feed-Your-Face-Beautiful-Delicious/dp/125000344X/ref=tmm_pap_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1340927792&sr=1-1 I listed them in order of helpfulness. wapiti
Anything please, I am desperate lol. According to that thread: My daughter took 50 mg of Zinc Picolinate for a month (someone here recommended it), and now is taking 25 mg of Chelated Zinc (someone had recommended that, too), plus she gets another 10 or so in a greens powder. LuvingLife
According to that thread: Well then, I am certainly going to try this out and see how it works. If it works for severe acne, I pray it works for moderate acne. Thank you so much!!!:001_smile:
LuvingLife
Could I also take fish oil with the zinc?
crazyforlatin
Could I also take fish oil with the zinc? I do, but not for the acne reason. In fact, I take a host of other vitamins but not for acne. :D Wow, this is my third thread on acne and zinc today.:tongue_smilie: Actually, another thought, I thought I needed to try to balance my hormonal level and also began to take evening primrose oil. That alone did not help, or it may have, but maybe I didn't pay attention. But with zinc, I was paying attention, just to see if it would really work. It has. :001_smile:
AlisonK
I struggle with adult acne also. I don't have the cure but I will give you a link to my favorite natural soap and acne treatment gel. The gel is cool and very soothing on painful acne. The prices are good and as you can see the reviews are too. http://www.iherb.com/Nelson-Bach-USA-Pure-Clear-Acne-Treatment-Gel-Step-4-1-oz-30-g/6744 http://www.iherb.com/Grandpa-s-Thylox-Acne-Treatment-Soap-with-Sulfur-3-25-oz-92-g/6431
