Denisemomof4
of blocks? Are they necessary for the earlier levels? We'll skip primer. Thanks, Denise
Stacia
No, we didn't. And, we haven't needed them (or missed them).
HollyDay
When I used MUS, I did buy the complete set and we did use them. Could you use something else? Absolutely! But we did use them along with the dvds. They are really promoted to go with the set. One of the "tricks" is to memorize the color of the blocks so the dc can know at a glance what 10 or 8 or 5 looks like rather than counting. Sunshine State Sue
No, we didn't. And, we haven't needed them (or missed them). :iagree: We only bought the starter set. It's been fine all the way through Pre-Algebra.
~Tara~
Nope. My elder two started in Gamma and haven't needed them yet. (now going into Epsilon and the other half way through Delta). My younger boy started in Primer and has done fine w/o the completer set as well..he is now half way through Alpha.
Denisemomof4
I really don't want to even wait for that sample dvd! Patience....... patience............... :tongue_smilie:
VaKim
Well, I only bought the starter set, and my dd has never even used them for anything but building, lol. I guess that kind of does away with the idea of math you "see," but she just never did like fooling with them. We love the dvd though. Guess it depends on the child, like so many things.:)
Julie in GA
the manipulative-based work at the same time. Even then, they could share. ;)
HollyDay
Let me add that I had 2 dc doing MUS at different levels but at the same time. Did I need it? Again, probably not, but it did make life easier.
EricaB
We are using the started set for Primer and the sales rep at the convention told me that we will still NOT need additional blocks for Alpha.
