hana
We are getting ready to move, and movers and the realtor have said, "You have SO much stuff." I'm embarrassed, but I really don't think we have an inordinate amount of stuff. So....if you know how much your belongings weigh, can you try to make me feel better? Especially if you have more than 15,000 lbs. :tongue_smilie:
Meriwether
20,000 for our last move. It will be more when we move this summer.
TammyinTN
We had 21,000 our last move. We do have loads of stuff and are purging a lot of stuff this year.

hana
Ok, Karen, you're kind of showing me up, since you have six children, and I only have two. :tongue_smilie:
TammyinTN
I just sent 2500 lbs worth of stuff to TX for my daughters house. So happy to see it leave. :D
SebastianCat
Ours was 11,000 pounds about two years ago for a family of 4, moving out of a 3 bedroom house. It would be higher now since we've added furniture to our new 4 bedroom house.
eight_gregorys
Our move was 10,000 pounds last year and we are a family of 8. We really don't have a lot of stuff though. We had two living room sets, a dining set, 3 sets of bunk beds, and a king bedroom set. Everything else was mostly books....lol.
The Girls' Mom
Well, our estimate was over 21,000lbs. I don't know what the actual was, but we went over the estimate. My dh has a pastor's library, in addition to our homeschool library and my dd15's book collection. Plus a garage REALLY full of tools. jenangelcat
6-7000. I was shocked it was so high considering we sold most of the furniture and don't keep a lot of stuff. We had a lot of books.

But we were moving from an apartment and I had learned that I liked space better than clutter. We've added some more furniture since moving to a house, but also got rid of a bunch of stuff (even books) so I think net weight would be similar. MrsBear
We purged a lot, donated heavy foodstuff that was less expensive to replace than move by weight and sold off a bunch before we moved (2006) and still had 12,000 pounds of stuff moved.
