Mom in High Heels
Help! The Web I's are supposed to bring a side dish for the Blue and Gold Banquet tomorrow. While I have a great pasta salad, but most people seem to bring a variation of that. I'd like to bring something different. It can't be something that has to be served really hot because I have no idea how long it will be before we actually eat. Any ideas?????? TN Mama
What about a black bean salad? black beans, drained/rinsed shoepeg corn tomato, diced bell pepper, diced (I use orange just because it looks pretty, but green works, too.) onion, diced avacado, diced juice of a lime Combine. Easy & yummy.
TXMomof4
dressing 1/2 cup olive oil 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 1/3 cup white sugar 3 tablespoons soy sauce Ramen noodle seasoning package salad 2 bunches baby bok choy, cleaned and sliced 1 bunch green onions, chopped 1/8 cup slivered almonds, toasted 1 pkg. ramen noodles - crushed This is one of my favorites. I make it with bok coy, shredded chinese cabbage, cole slaw mix, broccoli slaw - whatever green stuff that's available. I even like it better after it's sat for a while and the noodles are a little soft from the dressing.

Julie in CA
Garlic bread has always gone over well here, and at this time of year a bowl of mixed fruit is pretty and always results in an empty bowl when it's time to go home. Right now where I live the best selections are: pineapple, strawberries or frozen raspberries, and grapes.
In the Rain
All of those suggestions sound yummy. I love cowboy caviar. It isn't spectacular, but I sometimes take coleslaw made with an oil and vinegar dressing. I top it with Cutie or mandarin orange slices, and a sprinkle of sliced almonds for color.
