angela in ohio
Did anyone else read this article (I can't find it online to link, sorry)? I know I've seen the idea discussed somewhere before at length about needing to treat intelligence like sports ability, but I can't remember where? Anyone else read a book about this and want to scratch the itch in my brain?

Enough
I haven't read the WIRED article, so I'm not sure if this will be helpful, but The Creativity Post has been running a series of incredibly interesting opinion pieces about talent vs. practice (i.e., nature vs. nurture as it relates to intelligence)- here's the introduction to the debate; the opinion essays are linked on the sidebar. tntgoodwin
Which issue is it in? Is it the one with the gear shift on the cover?

tntgoodwin
Meh. Interesting concept, but I would have liked to see the author go into more specific details of putting that into practice.
Soror
Meh. Interesting concept, but I would have liked to see the author go into more specific details of putting that into practice. I found that rather interesting but lacking. I wish he would have taken the article further.
brehon
I found that rather interesting but lacking. I wish he would have taken the article further. :iagree: Although I thought he made an interesting point about athletes.
angela in ohio
Meh. Interesting concept, but I would have liked to see the author go into more specific details of putting that into practice. It' the little "stimulate conversation" piece they always have in the beginning (usually I disagree with them from a political or economic viewpoint, but they are always interesting at least) and not a full article. That's why I was trying to remember where I'd read about the athlete comparison before. I know it wasn't James.
