HappyGrace
It is SO hard to find good, engaging Christian fiction. I love Francine Rivers, but finding that type of decent writing is hard; unfortunately, a lot of it is banal and predictable. This is a good series I am reading (only on the 2nd book) that is about the time of Kings, etc-Hezekiah and so on-of course it is fictionalized, but she does use Scripture when they speak certain prophesies, etc. I am really enjoying it and wanted to share and hope it helps someone! It is called The Chronicles of the Kings series by Lynn Austin. Some of her other books are just ok, but I'm finding this series to be very good. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_4_22?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=chronicles+of+the+kings+lynn+austin&sprefix=chronicles+of+the+king%2Caps%2C519 One small warning-in the beginning of the first book there is a short section where children are sacrificed to Molech but it is well done. It made me think even more about the sacrifice of children in our society (abortion) and what an abomination it must be to the Lord.
Ibbygirl
Is it reading for adults or children?? Which age groups would you say? Thanks for the rec. I'm always up for good new books especially if they are uplifting and faith affirming. :)
HappyGrace
Oh, I'm sorry, definitely for adults. You will definitely want to go back and read Kings and Chronicles in the Bible after reading this-it is one of those that just drives you into wanting to reread the Scriptures and ignites your passion for the Lord even more. It also drives home the consequences of idolatry (in all forms), plus the Lord's amazing grace and redemption, etc. Also, everyone please feel free to share if you have any good Christian fiction books or series that you love!
