frugalmama
Does anyone here use k12 history for 1st or 2nd grade? How did you like it? Was it fairly balanced and secular? I am considering it, but wondering if I can teach it from just the student pages I can purchase off amazon, or do I need to subscribe to k12 for the online content for those courses. Halcyon
My son loved it. I believe SWB had a big hand in its creation. ETA: The online content is critical.
blondeviolin
My sister uses it with her children and loves it too. SWB did help with its creation, I believe. It is contingent on the online aspect. If you don't want to do it online, you might consider SOTW as they have similarities.
EKS
I love K12's history courses for the younger grades. Yes it is balanced and totally secular. But you have to have the online part because that's where the teaching is.
Sue G in PA
VERY similar to SOTW1 b/c SWB did write the K12 curriculum for that grade level. We used it when we were in a cyber-academy years ago and really liked it. Online content IS crucial.
TracyR
Liked the history for K, 1,2 ( haven't used it for 3rd) and 4th. Very secular. But you need to use the online portion to teach it. The workbooks are basically work pages that follow the content from online. Online is Crucial.
frugalmama
drat - I was hoping we could just use the student pages and wing it. Guess that's out. Why is it that every history program for this age level ends up not working for us for one reason or another? Thanks for answering my question everyone!
