littleWMN
What did they move on to? Was it a good fit? Is there anything you'd change? Dd is only in 5th but I like to plan. She's not math-minded but CLE is a good fit. Edited November 27, 2011 by littleWMN
Bbunch5
I would really appreciate suggestions too. My daughter(7th grade) will finish up CLE 8 in a few months and I don't know where to go from there. What math program and at what level best follows CLE? k2bdeutmeyer
Interesting question!! I'm all ears too :) DD is working on CLE 6 this year, but our time will come soon enough.
mom26
Curious too...have a student in CLE 6 now...we have used Videotext Algebra and Geometry as well as Teaching Textbooks for our older boys but they did not transition from CLE so I am very curious about what others have used with success. i.love.lucy
:bigear: I'm using CLE too, with a non-mathy kid, and thought I would probably move her in to the appropriate (after a placement text) level of Saxon when done with CLE. It's spiral too, and is used in the upper levels of Classical Conversations, which we hope to stay with long term. While I don't want to change her now, seems like down the road Saxon will likely be the best fit. Other ideas or experiences?
littleWMN
I'm glad it's a good question. ;) I figure it's good to know what's out there before the time comes (even if things change between now and then, at least I'll be familiar with options). I don't envision us switching from CLE in the meantime.
Mommy22alyns
:bigear: Are there just not a lot of people who have gone through CLE 8? Maybe CLE needs to get to work in making the upper levels Sunrise editions!

G5052
We haven't used CLE 8 though. I have one who did CLE Math 7 then most of Jacobs Algebra (which wasn't a good fit), then Saxon Algebra 1/2, and then Saxon Algebra 1. My next one is in CLE Math 7 now and we'll probably go to Saxon Algebra 1/2 next. Saxon Algebra 1/2 is a good transition course IMHO because it teaches them how Saxon works without throwing them into Algebra 1 full bore. Some go from CLE Math 7 into Saxon Algebra I, but I'm not going to do that. I prefer a transition book regardless of where they fall in the Saxon Placement Test. According to the CLE rep on the Yahoo Group, the final verson of their Algebra I will appear in the next catalog, but they haven't committed to a timeframe for beyond that because there isn't as much demand for their upper-level math and it takes multiple years to write each one.
