One of the dads on her soccer team is a private school math teacher and we happened to be chatting about dd and her being a "math magician" :tongue_smilie:and he offered to tutor her, for free, because she is on this soccer team. I was really thrilled by this whole thing, kwim? So he has been tutoring her for a few weeks and it has gone really well. He is totally impressed with her skills and her ability to listen and learn. Today he presented her with a gift and she is so stoked it is funny! He gave her a three-ring binder with dividers in it, loose leaf paper, and graph paper. There is a pencil pouch in it with pencils and erasers (more erasers because you are supposed to make lots of mistakes in math! :lol: ) and a scientific calculator. He said she had to pay him back later in life by "paying it forward" and helping someone else with something she is good at. One of her "assignments" for next week is to personalize the binder. :D Incidentally, she is doing amazing in geometry.
