I didn't for 1A but had previously taught Right Start B & C so I didn't feel like it was worth the money. I found a copy of the 1B HIG at our virtual charter's lending library, so I did get that. Momling Posted September 6, 2011 Share Posted September 6, 2011 I've read the Liping Ma book and don't use the HIG. I have, however, taught math at PS before and feel pretty confident about teaching without a guide. Dmmetler Posted September 6, 2011 Share Posted September 6, 2011 I don't use the HiG, however, I did SM teacher training, so it's redundant with that. I haven't had trouble coming up with manipulative activities when DD needs them. She tends to do better with visuals anyway, and the textbooks do a good job of including those.
