2squared
Oh, my. Our tour through the Ingalls homestead today was fabulous. Just fabulous. For $10/person (5yo & over) we did these things: *Explored a dugout *Explored a claim shanty *Explored a straw covered barn (just like Pa's) *Explored Ma's little house *Operated an old fashioned sewing machine *Operated a foot pumped viola (I think that's what it's called) *Washed & hung clothes *Pumped water from a well *Drove a horse-pulled two person cart *Rode a pony *Petted cats *Saw chickens *Took a covered wagon ride through the Ingalls homestead *Drove the covered wagon!! *Made corn husk dolls *Made rope *Tied prairie grass *Went to school in a prairie school *Rang the school bell *Had a picnic lunch on the homestead The homestead wasn't commercialized at all, and the dc could touch EVERYTHING. Everyone had a great time. If you can make it, it is a great trip.

Belacqua
Have you read The Wilder Life? It's a memoir by a woman who toured all the major Little House landmarks. She describes most of the activities you mention. I'm so pleased you had a good visit. I'd like to see that someday.
