Mom-ninja.
I had to convince my boys to watch The Princess Bride. They whined and moaned that they didn't want to because well the title has the words "princess" and "bride" in it. I told them to trust me, and they flopped on the couch mumbling. After 10 minutes they were hooked and on the edge of their seats.

Dandelion
Love, love, love that movie... It came out when I was in high school and my friends and I conversed almost exclusively in Princess Bride quotes for some time - good times! :D

Mom-ninja.
Tell them it's actually called "The Swashbuckling Pirate Groom"! The very yummy swashbuckling pirate! I still wish I had named my youngest Westley. DH nixed the name and I regret it.

AngieW in Texas
Try Dragon Sword. We like it much better than Princess Bride. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0306892/ It was retitled George and the Dragon, but the kids and I prefer the original title. Shannanlee
One of my favorite childhood movies. I may have to convince my son next time it comes on he is out of town right now with my hubby.

We're always looking for new movies to watch on Netflix. I doubt anything would take me away from my beloved Princess Bride, since there is that element of nostalgia built in ;)
AngieW in Texas
My kids hated that Buttercup just sat there waiting to be rescued. The princess in Dragon Sword is great.
