Night Elf
Is there any legitimate reason the caller ID would say unknown name but show a local phone number? I did pick up but when I heard the pause, I hung up. They have not called back so I'm assuming it isn't someone I know.
QueenCat
Cell phones often say unknown or give the city instead of the name.
vonfirmath
Working at a company that goes through a central line for all outgoing calls. (For example when I worked for Boeing, Caller ID would show Unknown and the Boeing central dispatch number)
Ellie
I never pick up when I don't recognize a name or a telephone #. Which doesn't actually answer your question, lol. My bad. :D
Cinder
I generally assume it's a telemarketer. Legit callers will most likely leave a message. If the call is from a cell phone it might just list the city and state. But then again, legit callers will leave you a message. I usually google phone numbers that aren't familiar. ETA: I think my mil once had her number come through as UNKNOWN. We never figured out why--she doesn't have an unlisted number.
