KIN
Would you please share your 3rd grade science plans? I was planning to do Apologia's Flying Things b/c we are enjoying Astronomy so much, but I decided I should check into WTM rec's as well. So, I pulled my book back out again. I wanted your opinions too. Are you doing chemistry and the WTM rec's or something else? What? Thanks!!
Arch at Home
We are just finishing up Singapore's My Pals Are Here Science , 3rd grade. It really pushed dd to think and it was easy to implement. It does not follow WTM rec's.

Daisy
We are using Rod and Staff 3rd grade science. I didn't think we would enjoy a textbook but we are loving it. I use it with my kinder also. Both kiddos notebook with it.
Ali in OR
We did Noeo Bio I for first, snuck in Apologia Astronomy between first and second, and are now doing Noeo Chem I, so next year it will be on to Noeo physics I. After that I'm not sure where we'll go next.
Laura in STL
We are planning to use RS4K chemistry level 1 next year for 3rd. We will fill the year out with Adventures with Atoms and Molecules(not the whole book-just pick and choose), living books, and biographies. HTH. Myrtle
We are just finishing up Singapore's My Pals Are Here Science , 3rd grade. It really pushed dd to think and it was easy to implement. It does not follow WTM rec's. I did Singapore 5th and 6th with my oldest and just got 3rd in the mail, however, Singaporemath website doesn't even list a test book for the third grade like it does for the other grades Do you know if they even offer it at 3rd grade level? One of the reasons I like Singapore science is because the tests are so well designed. While it doesn't follow WTM recommendations of choosing one area per year, the Singapore Science lessons are short enough that we had plenty of time during the school year to do a lot of outside reading in science. Pensguys
I'm thinking about going textbooky with Harcourt Science and whatever co-op class is offered...or either Harcourt and real hands-on with classes offered 2x/month at the local interpretive center on the creek near us. Jenny in Atl
I may use a mix of RS4K Chemistry or LLB Chemistry with MWO. Not sure, she loves science so I could see us doing at least two.

I wanted your opinions too. Are you doing chemistry and the WTM rec's or something else? What? Thanks!! Nope not doing WTM recomendations. My oldest did half a year of Apologia Botany then half a year of Winter Promise Animals and Their Worlds. My 2nd dd will probably end up doing half a year of Apologia Zoo 2 and Zoo 3 for 3rd grade. My kids just prefer Biology. I stopped fighting them and go with that for the younger years. That is why my oldest now is doing God's Design in addition to listening into the Biology the younger kids are doing. Starting in 4th I made it a requirement to do SOME, ANY other type of science. She is doing Earth science and loving it, but still says she is going to be a Zoologist/Botanist when she grows up. Heather
Arch at Home
I didn't use the test book but the Rainbow Resource Center website lists it. http://www.rainbowresource.com/proddtl.php?sid=1201560789-377200&subject=11&id=036981
Jenny in Atl
What is MWO? Thanks! I'm getting great ideas! It's My World Science. Ria has stopped making them but Rainbow Resource still has a number of her units in stock. http://www.rainbowresource.com/prodlist.php?sid=1201613502-788858&subject=11&category=2787
Karie
I did RS4K Chemistry with some experiments from atoms and molecules. After we tired of that, we moved on to Apologia Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day. We are enjoying science with Apologia. I plan to do their Swimming Creatures next.
