angela in ohio
The olders are gone for the day, and ds got bored quickly. He just asked me, "Can I play a bit of Wii if it's something active or educational?" Gee, where has he heard someone ranting about that?! :D How about you? :001_smile:
i.love.lucy
Oh, my, yes. My son is constantly asking if certain food is a protein and healthy. He's only 6 and doesn't really even know what protein means but he's heard me rant on and on about the fact that they are so hungry all the time because they need MORE PROTEIN!!! Mom-2-7
The phrase that comes out of my mouth more than any other lately is: Close the door! A close second is "No we can't have ___ more often because its junk food and not good for you" or some other phrase that means basically the same thing. LaxMom
"that's not food!" I've had to start telling them they may not tell other people that because I think some of the parents of their friends are getting offended. Which still doesn't mean I'll let mine have soda - even if (or especially because) "it's diet!" :ack2: - but it's probably better to just decline politely. Just hearing a kid that age saying that makes me giggle. He'll also ask for a healthy snack if I just said no to a cookie or candy.
Rich with Kids
I have been saying, "Quit jacking around" way too much. The other day I slipped and said "off" instead of "around". My kids looked at me like :001_huh:. I live in the land of "That's what she said." Gotta be more careful...
