Trivium Academy
I'm pretty sure they are the same exercises just different graphics- we use the Sports theme b/c I felt it was less distracting and I think they were cheaper?
angela in ohio
We use the old edition, because when we tried the new one year, they had too many typos and errors. :( I've never seen that many in the old edition.
Ali in OR
And it is 2 or 3 dollars more, and I believe the exercises are essentially the same. I got the sports theme one for SWO B and the corny sports lingo was driving me crazy! You have a "pep talk" instead of a tip (spelling rule), a Game Plan Spelling Lineup instead of Spelling Practice, etc. For a child that doesn't do baseball or football, these phrases are meaningless. I don't think there is a difference in the work that they do, but I felt like I had to translate the section titles because they insisted on using sports language that doesn't explain what you are doing as well! Yes, we had this problem too. We use the new version right now (SWO E) but I'm not sure about next year. We have the sports themed SWO F and I think dd might understand it more now. mcconnellboys
The exercises are not different. In some cases, the opening little intro story and/or the pictures are different. Regena
Rhonda in WA
My local home school store had the newer edition. My dd liked it. Then we switched to SWR and use SWO as a workbook. She likes it that way.
Chris in VA
That's funny--I like the other one better because I think the reading segments are more interesting! lol
Susan in SoCal
we usually skip the intro story anyway. I buy whichever one I find cheaper. Yup, that's me. Cheap.
