Homeschooling6
Lance, my 6.8 K student, will start FLL 1 (current edition) this week. His fine motor skills are not all there yet. He's a smart little guy but can't write all his letters yet. I was wondering if I should start WWE 1 with him anyway but at a slower pace. If we don't add WWE 1 in would FLL 1 be enough for LA? Lance, is currently using AAR Pre-1. He narrates a short story once a week (I write it down) and this week I'm adding in FLL 1. Thank you,
Critterfixer
If he can't write all his letters yet I wouldn't start WWE. FLL takes care of the grammar, but it sounds like he needs more penmanship practice before he begins an all out writing program.

mamachanse
Our personal experience was that ds was not ready for WWE1 when we did FLL1. We ended up skippng it completely We started WWE2 with FLL2 and he was right on track. Go with your gut on this one.
boscopup
I would definitely wait on WWE. It's fine to start it in 2nd grade. The two don't have to be used at the same level. :)
PenKase
FWIW, my dd7 did begin WWE1 at the same age as your ds, BUT she could already write fluently. Otherwise I would have definitely waited too. As for grammar, I plan to start FLL 1/2 (condensed) next school year.
