Mama2two
I have seen a lot of people writing about what grade level their child is reading at. I have a son in first grade and am interested as to what his level would be. What do you use to determine reading level?

susankenny
Sonlight has a reading level test. I found it to be fairly accurate & painless for my children to take. http://www.sonlight.com/quick-reading-assessment.html Susan
kokotg
you can get a rough idea by taking books they're reading fluently and looking up the reading level (I like scholastic's book wizard for this; I find lexile levels maddeningly nonsensical sometimes). Chelli
This is what I'm going to use when my daughter is done with her current phonics book. http://highland.hitcho.com.au/readingassessment.pdf
TracyP
Here is a reading assessment I have used. When I say my kids are reading at __ grade level I typically go by the books they are reading and what grade level those books are. (according to lexile numbers and scholastic's book wizard)
