prairiewindmomma
I'm so confused. I have spent a lot of time on the IEW website and re-reading their catalog and I still don't understand the sequence of materials. Does it work like this? SWI A SWI-CC A SWI B SWI-CC B or what? Please help. ;)

meet me in paris
There's a little bit of help on the IEW site here. You would not repeat the SWI since they cover basically the same material. What you can do is: SWI -A SICC - A SICC - B SICC - C But you may not need that. Once you do the SWI and the SICC, you can go on to theme-based writing, or one of the Essay Intensives, Poetry, etc. depending on the age of your student(s). Hope that helps! dani3boys
I think it would go like this: SWI-A SICC-A SICC-B SICC-C
Keniki
It would partly depend on the age(s) of your child(ren). Level A is for 3rd through 5th graders age-wise (not necessarily ability), level B is for 6th - 8th graders and level C is for 9th-12th grades although advanced 8th graders would do fine with C also. The SWI is the beginning point if you want Mr. Pudewa to teach for you. Start with the SWI for the age of your child. If you have multiple ages, shoot for the middle. After the SWI, you could do the SICC for that level, but after that it would depend. This would be a good time to go to one (or more) theme based books. Each of the SICC's is definitely for that age, so you wouldn't want to put a 6th or 7th grader in Level C, because Level C is definitely high school level work. prairiewindmomma
Thanks! We are starting with SWI-A, but I didn't know how to progress from there.
