Once
My daughter loved the George Muller book in the YWAM series Christain Heros. I think she read it four times. There are alot of other biographys but some may have intense parts.
percytruffle
I love all the books by Diane Stanley! She has written some wonderful biographies that are meant to be read by your dd's age group. I even used some of them, such as The Bard Of Avon, when my dc were older.
Carol in Cal.
I also like the Jean Fritz books, especially the one about Harriet Beacher Stowe. She might not yet be old enough for "The Story of the Trapp Family Singers" but that is a great, heartwarming, funny book. "Cheaper by the Dozen" is also a great readaloud for this age. Sasharowan
I always loved Cheaper by the Dozen and the sequel Belles on their Toes.
Jean in Newcastle
Books by Ronald Syme (out of print). A lot of his are about explorers and might appeal more to boys - but they are very well written.
