jewel7123
Our pastor will be making a missionary journey to India in a couple of months, and I'd really like to do a unit study on India with my daughters soon so they can be familiar with the culture and what life is like for children there. (Food, Dress, Customs, etc.) Does anyone have any good book suggestions, as well as other things like crafts and activities for learning about India for the Prek-1st grade age group? Thanks! Embassy
I put together a study of India this year for my boys. You can see it here. There are lots of books listed and many of them would suit that age range.

Little Nyssa
We read Savitri, and it is a beautiful tale, but it was really a little too heavy for my 1st grader.

SEGway
Sonlight did a free unit study on India last fall. I think their initial fundraiser part is concluded, but you might still be able to watch their short videos and read through the material. My K-5er loved it. http://www.mypassporttoindia.org/
