mo2
Planning out my 4yo's preschool year. I'm planning on All About Reading, Handwriting Without Tears, and some math. That's all I'm going to do formally. So, what are some fun, light math programs for the preschool age? :bigear:
Just Robyn
Saxon K is fun and light. Off the top of my head it has activities like: making pictographs learning/reviewing the days of the week making and reading patterns making some/some-more stories and some/some-went-away stories (using teddy bear counters to act out addition and subtraction) making pattern block designs identifying attributes recognizing different shapes
ladydusk
My little one likes MEP Reception, although we're 5 lessons in.

krisandpaula
:iagree: :iagree: I agree with this as well but in addition, my dd (4) has really enjoyed the Singapore Essentials books. She enjoys workbooks, so this has been a great supplement to the hands on activities.

Are there lots of manipulatives? (We need loads and loads of manipulatives!)

JudoMom
Would Saxon K be too much for a 4yo? Are there lots of manipulatives? (We need loads and loads of manipulatives!) It is ALL manipulatives. There is no writing at all. It is perfect for 4yos :).
warriormom
:iagree: with Singapore Essentials as a first program. I use blocks as manipulatives.
rootsnwings
We're doing Miquon and Thinking Kids Math Cards from Rainbow resource--I got one of the bargain bin PK-1 sets for like $20 and both my littles can use them! We have cusenaire rods and counting bears we use for patterning too... and don't forget Team Umizoomi! :D Also, the more starfall.com website has math although it is a bit above ds3.5's level he still likes to play it. :) Also, you may want to check out aha! math on learning.com. HTH! :)

Laura Corin
We enjoyed Singapore Earlybird: it's very hands on and simple to implement. Laura
