thescrappyhomeschooler
Someone posted a link to these cute little penguin appetizers, and I made some this morning for a party later today. I'm in love with them! These would be great to make if you read Mr. Popper's Penguins.

Now would you?

Onceuponatime
Let's see. . .olives? cream cheese? what are the beaks and feet? To me, it looks like cheddar chees disks with a wedge cut out. It could be carrot.
thescrappyhomeschooler
:lol: I would be freaked out if they started marching! The beaks and feet are carrots, but I suppose you could use cheese.
sleepymommy
Those look so cute, my kids would flip for them. Anyone know if there is a gluten, dairy, and soy free substitute for the cream cheese? It's one of the only things I haven't found a suitable sub for.
Margo out of lurking
These are darling!!! Great job! It's almost enough to make me want to reread the book just so I can make these!

It's one of the only things I haven't found a suitable sub for. For this recipe, you could probably use mashed potatoes or sushi rice. For other recipes, I have no idea. For the OP, this is VERY cute! I will be reading Popper's Penguins for our school this year just so I can try it with the kids! Thanks for posting. Hoggirl
Someone posted a link to these cute little penguin appetizers, and I made some this morning for a party later today. I'm in love with them! These would be great to make if you read Mr. Popper's Penguins. I posted a link to these right before Christmas. They were the hit (in the category of visual appeal...the beef tenderloin won in taste appeal!) of our Christmas party. Two women each took one home! Cricket
Way cute! I just finished reading Mr. Popper's Penguins with dds. And they love black olives. Seems like I'll have to make them!
MyLittleWonders
Those are so cute! We are starting Mr. Popper's Penguins on Tuesday for literature. My kids would love these, but I'll have to play around with using something else than cream cheese - rice sounds like it would work. Hmm ... maybe I can make raw "cheeze" using cashews.
