Joanne
It's an "even" year, so the kids are at their Dad's for Christmas. We are living in two homes. We can't stay overnight in the new one until Jan. 1st, but we are progressively moving or selling everything from here. That makes it a weird place to come "home" to. We moved our freezer, sold our fridge but don't have gas in the new home. That makes cooking @ home difficult! We had breakfast, went to see Narnia on a whim because coming home here, especially without kids is weird now. We went to the 3:00 church service of the church we attend. We are going to the 11:00 pm service of the church we used to attend (and got married in). Not a bad way to spend a weird for us holiday. Carol in Cal.
Merry Christmas to you, Joanne! May your church service fill you with peace and joy! May you enjoy this time with your lovely husband. May your home be clear to you by this time next year. Immanuel means 'God is with us'. What a blessing that Jesus was poor and homeless and still was God with us. :grouphug:
Jean in Newcastle
It sounds like you're making good choices to make this an unusual but still enjoyable holiday.
catalinakel
My night has been sort of weird too. Kids are with daddy for the first time, and I am home babysitting. I decided to make my boy a terry cloth bathrobe at the last minute today, so I'm working on getting it done, as well. :grouphug:to you and yours Joanne. How was the movie? BMW
This is my first year without my kids at home with me, too. 5 of them are at their dad's. I have been doing mostly good, but am a bit emotional... :grouphug:for the both of us.
Samiam
And see, I love that. I love that, although life is not story-book perfect at the moment, you are gracefully stepping over the sticks and stones, to see and enjoy the good parts of life around you. Enjoy!
