jenniferlee
I've gotten a few from the library and I like the looks of them, but are they reliable, information-wise? I was thinking about just getting the whole set for my 6 and 9yo but I'm not sure if they're worth it. Thanks, Jen

Thanks, Jen I have the first two and we are enjoying them. I haven't gotten out my fact checker, but nothing seemed unreasonable or fairy-tale-ish. I'll be getting more. stripe
They seem innocuous to me, but does your library have all of them?
linders
We have all 7 (or is it 6?) and the boys re-read them for fun all the time. I find them very balanced, with a real effort to present both side of an issue. But - they only go up to the War of 1812. I was wondering if the Maestros were close to finishing another so emailed her. We have ended up corresponding and she even sent me the outline for the next book along with some resources! Such a nice lady. Unfortunately the next book, which will go up to the Civil War, isn't due out for 2 more years.
mcconnellboys
They are more liberal in viewpoint than some things, but I like a mix of viewpoints in our reading. I have them and use them. They include some good timelines, glossaries, etc. at the back that could be used to expand upon.
jenniferlee
Thanks for your viewpoints everyone. Yes, our library does have them all but one, but I was thinking about just buying them to have if they were worthwhile. Jen
