Teresa in MO
I ordered the Alex Rider series for my 10 yo ds who loves the Hardy Boys series. Are these books appropriate for a 10 yo? We are Christian if that makes a difference.
6packofun
Well, there is the rare swear word (like d*mn or h*ll) and a little bit of violence, but I'd probably let our 10yo read them. (We're Christian, too, but reading materials is a personal conviction kind of thing...)
Lizzie in Ma
I've read the first two, they are fun.
elegantlion
I've read them all, ds has read them all, we started at about age 10. It's so hard to make recommendations for others, but we enjoyed them (understatement). But my ds is a big James Bond fan, so they were appealing to him. There are a lot of perilous situations and as you get deeper into the series you see more of the emotions invoked in Alex by the dangers he is put into. If there is any doubt I suggest reading them for yourself. Scorpia has a darker edge to it than the others and the last two are more dramatic. Be careful they can be addicting. Joyofsixreboot
My boys loved those books. It had some mild cursing but nothing they hadn't heard on the baseball field.

AngieW in Texas
I'd be fine with reading them to a 5yo. They're great books. I've read all but the most recent books and have really enjoyed them. Unfortunately, I can't get any of my kids to even think about trying them.
