momofkhm
I bought 4 dining chairs at Goodwill today. (We've broken 2 over the years and I decided having more than enough would be good.) But they put the price on them with big stickers. I can scrape the sticker off with my fingernail, but some sticky party is left behind. Do you know of anything that will remove the sticker but leave the finish intact? Oh and not cause it's own problems would be nice too. Second question: The chairs I bought are in good shape. I don't need to refinish them at all, just recover the cushion part. Now if you were our staple gun, where would you be? Thanks!
Tap
Food grade Oil is good for removing stickers. Just let it soak for a while. Peanut butter works too. I like orange oil the best.
dripdripsplat
I would try either rubbing alcohol or an oil (vegetable, olive, baby, etc) on a rag. You shouldn't have to rub too hard. The oil would be my first go-to.
dripdripsplat
Oh, and if I were your staple gun I would either be in the garage, the laundry room, or in the kids' bedroom. :001_smile:
Jen in PA
Murphy's oil soap would likely work. I just washed down my cabinet faces with it and they look amazing. It's something my mother used all the time that I had almost forgotten about.
Dobela
I agree with using cooking oil. And if you were my stapler , you would be on top of the refrigerator behind the old flower arrangement so that ds can't see it or find it ;)
fairfarmhand
I do know that ammonia in warm water got that mess off my new windows. If that doesn't work, I refer you to my favorite cleaner in the whole world. it gets GUM AND PLAYDOH out of carpet with no staining or residue. Works wonders on grease and SHARPIE marker. http://www.schaefferoil.com/specialty/266_citrol.html
LisaKinVA
I use UnDo (because it doesn't stain...works on paper too). I believe it is commonly known as something else (maybe having to do with oil lamps?) I just don't recall..
